For the second consecutive day, school districts in Wisconsin have been forced to close including the Milwaukee Public School District today.

Kids-In-SchoolCurrently there are serious policies being considered in Madison, pertaining to our state budget crisis, and sometimes it is important to exercise our American right to protest. However, we believe that the majority of Wisconsinites do not agree with teacher’s protesting while kids are forced to stay home. This is a great example of why it is important that parents have the right to choose where they send their children for education. While teachers from all over the state are protesting in Madison, children in the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program are comfortably reviewing this past weeks curriculum, in class.

According to Terry Brown, the President of St. Anthony School in Milwaukee, regardless of what happens with MPS, St. Anthony School is “open for business”.

I know that our parents appreciate this and would be very angry and inconvenienced if they were forced to send their children to a school where teachers impose their personal issues on them at the expense of a day of education.

We support the right to protest and advocate for any cause that Americans deem important, but Hispanics for School Choice also supports the parental right to choose.
